Title
Modular Passenger Vehicle
Year 2026
Description
This study develops the concept of a partially to fully autonomous, electric M1-class vehicle with a time horizon extending to 2035. The focus is on barrier-free passenger transport, particularly for people with limited mobility, with the aim of improving individual freedom of movement, self-determination, and social participation.
The vehicle is designed to serve as an alternative to private local transportation and as a complement to public transit, catering to both urban and rural areas. The combination of highly automated driving capabilities, modular architecture, and a sustainable powertrain enables a resource-efficient, cost-effective, and scalable mobility solution.
The modular design allows for the replacement of key components such as the battery, vehicle body, and interior, thereby increasing service life, maintainability, and adaptability. In addition, environmental, economic, and social factors are taken into account in an integrated manner to create a holistic, sustainable mobility concept.
